Home Inspector – TREC License #21952
” I moved down to Conroe Texas a few years ago after spending my childhood in Grand Rapids Michigan. I Was raised on a farm next door to my grandparents where I started learning how to build as a child. My family is full of do it yourself folks and because of that I learned the value of making something with your own two hands and how to maintain it once its finished. Both my dad and my grandpa were license builders in the state of Michigan and I was always allowed to clean and sweep at the job sites. My grandpa had a habit of always concealing his signature somewhere when he built something he was particularly proud of, something I began doing when I started my own buildings.
I was a talented hockey player when I was young which gave me the opportunity to attend Grand Valley State University and play for the Lakers while taking classes in the engineering field. During and after college I always maintained a job in the construction industry working on large scale hotels and commercial projects as well as residential repairs, remodels, and new construction. During the economic downturn I took a job as a Customer Service agent at Huntington National Bank in Michigan where I attribute the development of my communication skills. When the economy recovered I went back to building.
Eventually I made the decision to move to the Houston area, the fastest growing city in America, to take advantage of the opportunities such an area has to offer. While I pursued my home inspection license I built custom cabinets for high end luxury clients.
Upon receiving my home inspection license I began the process of starting the home inspection business while doing subcontracting work for Exterior Inspections LLC specializing in Exterior Cladding, moisture intrusion, thermal imaging, Leak investigation and roofing diagnosis. This allowed me the opportunity to learn from one of the best inspectors in the business and truly a leading expert on the installation of Exterior cladding materials.
Combining my hands on experience, building science education, and work ethic I team up with Darrell Foreman to open KDF Home Inspections PLLC, where our goal is to service the people of our community with integrity and dependability. When you call me at KDF I want to answer all of your questions and give you the best information available to help make the real estate transaction an open and forthright experience for everyone.
I pride myself in not only being able to identify deficiencies in a property but also use my hands on experience to give helpful advice about the best possible repairs that can be made to increase the value, extend the serviceable life span, add efficiency, or simple make a squeaking stair tread stop making noise.”
